The Everest Base Camp trek is a legendary journey through the heart of the Himalayas. Starting with a thrilling flight to Lukla, the trek winds through Sherpa villages, pine forests, and glacial valleys. Highlights include Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Monastery, and stunning Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam views. After reaching Everest Base Camp, surrounded by towering peaks and glaciers, trekkers summit Kala Patthar for sunrise views before descending through diverse landscapes back to Lukla. It’s a challenging adventure filled with cultural immersion and breathtaking natural beauty.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kathmandu – Altitude: 1250 meter

  • Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, and transfer to the hotel.
  • Welcome dinner hosted by Midland Yatra.
  • Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

  • Visit Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Bouddhanath Stupa.
  • Trip briefing at the hotel.
  • Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3Fly to Lukla, Trek to Phakding – 2,900 m

  • Early morning flight to Lukla.
  • Trek to Phakding via Cheplung village.
  • Overnight in Phakding.

Day 4Phakding to Namche Bazaar – 3,450m

  • Trek through pine forests, cross Dudh Koshi River, and enter Everest National Park.
  • Reach Namche Bazaar, the largest town in the Everest region.
  • Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5Acclimatization Day – Namche Bazaar

  • Explore Namche Bazaar, an optional hike to Sagarmatha National Park.
  • Visit Hillary School and a monastery.
  • Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 6Namche Bazaar to Tengboche – 3,850 m

  • Trek to Tengboche, and visit Tengboche Monastery.
  • Panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and others.
  • Overnight in Tengboche.

Day 7Tengboche to Dingboche – 4,350 m

  • Descend through lush forests, and cross the Imja River to Pangboche.
  • Continue to Dingboche, with views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.
  • Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 8Acclimatization Day - Dingboche

  • Climb ridge behind village for views of Himalayan peaks.
  • Explore Dingboche village.
  • Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 9Dinboche to Lobuche – 4,910 m

  • Scenic views of Mt. Makalu, Amadablam & rivers.
  • Trek to Lobuche, views of Khumbu Glacier.
  • Overnight in Lobuche.

Day 10Lobuche to Gorak Shep, Visit Everest Base Camp – 5,365 m

  • Trek to Gorak Shep, and continue to Everest Base Camp.
  • Views of Nuptse, Khumbuste, Pumori.
  • Return to Gorak Shep overnight.

Day 11Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar to Pheriche – 5,555 m

  • Early morning hike to Kala Patthar for sunrise views of Everest and the Himalayas.
  • Descend to Pheriche.
  • Overnight in Pheriche.

Day 12Pheriche to Namche Bazaar

  • Descend through forests, views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Nuptse.
  • Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 13Namche Bazaar to Lukla

  • Descend rocky trail alongside Dudh Koshi River.
  • Overnight in Lukla.

Day 14Fly to Kathmandu

  • Morning flight to Kathmandu.
  • Rest or shopping in Kathmandu.
  • Farewell dinner in the evening.
  • Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 15Departure

  • Transfer to Tribhuwan International Airport for departure.
